HE BIT IT!!

Yep folks, that's right. My son decided to take a chomp out of a light bulb. I don't know what on earth possessed him to do it, but when he told me I kind of freaked. Luckily he spit it out (at least that's what he told me) and there wasn't any harm done.

Lara you were exactly right! Everybody better watch out when Zane and Owen get together for the first time. I think our "whirling dervish" (as his uncles call him) may have met his match in your Zane.

The case of the broken light...

I put Owen in his room last night because he was throwing a fit, and a few minutes later he came out crying saying that a light on the tree was broken (the kids have a small Christmas tree in their room.) Sure enough, this is what I saw...

Midwestern Weather

For those of you who haven't heard, we in the midwest have enjoyed crazy ice storms over the last couple of weeks. Luckily, we've escaped the worst of it, but we've had enough for me to realize that freezing rain is nuts! Our patio, car, mailbox, even our picnic table has been covered in a thick sheet of ice.

We had a bad storm on Saturday and Sunday morning they cancelled church. Cancel church? In all of my 26 years that has never happened before. We were able to spend the day together as a family and it turned out to be a really nice Sunday. We all stayed in our pajamas all day (which Owen thought was so funny) and just spent time together. Andrew and the kids went out to chip and scrape our sidewalk (not shovel, like most people...crazy freezing rain.)

The kids loved cracking the ice and pounding on everything. I'm not a huge fan of winter, but now I've found myself wishing for snow, anything is better than ice! I've lived in the midwest for almost 4 years and I still can't get used to the weather.
